Why tyres matter more than they look
Worn or glazed tyres slip. On a line-following or maze exercise the robot then over-runs every turn, and students spend the lesson debugging code that was never wrong.
When to replace
Check the tread at the start of each term. Tyres that have gone shiny, hard, or picked up a permanent flat spot should be swapped as a set so both sides grip equally.
