When you need this
A cracked hub spins on the motor shaft: the motor runs, the encoder counts, and the robot does not move — or moves intermittently. It is a different fault from a dead motor and much cheaper to fix.
Check the shaft too
If a hub has been slipping for a while, inspect the motor shaft flat for rounding before fitting a new hub.
