Overview
TurboPi is a Raspberry Pi car on mecanum wheels with a two-axis camera mount, and it covers the gap between a line-following kit and a full ROS platform. Omnidirectional movement lets students work on holonomic control without building a chassis first.
It fits ITE and polytechnic modules on machine vision: colour tracking, tag recognition, visual line following and target following are supplied working in Python, and each is short enough to modify inside one practical session.
The configuration list is long. What actually matters is the controller — the Raspberry Pi model sets what will run comfortably, and vision plus any language model on the lowest-memory option will be tight. Decide the controller first, then the accessories.
