Flying in Singapore: drones over 250 g must be registered with CAAS before their first flight, and some uses need a permit. We'll walk you through what applies to you when you get in touch.

Highlights

  • Leading non-DJI enterprise option for supply diversification
  • Four sensors: 48 MP wide + 160× zoom + thermal + rangefinder
  • Binocular + radar obstacle avoidance for low-light flying
  • ~20 km transmission and 42-minute flight time

Overview

Autel EVO Max 4T: Four-Sensor Enterprise Drone

The Autel EVO Max 4T is a folding, multi-sensor enterprise UAV built around a single gimbal that integrates four complementary imaging and ranging tools. It has become a widely adopted alternative to DJI enterprise platforms — particularly in government, defense-adjacent, and critical-infrastructure contexts where procurement policies restrict or discourage DJI products.

Sensor Suite

All four sensors are housed in one stabilized gimbal, allowing operators to switch between or overlay data streams without swapping payloads:

  • 48 MP wide camera — used for orthomosaic mapping, site documentation, and high-resolution visual inspection.
  • Up to 160× hybrid zoom — enables standoff observation and inspection of structures, equipment, or subjects at distance without repositioning the aircraft.
  • 640×512 thermal camera (operating range: −20 °C to 550 °C) — detects heat signatures for applications including search and rescue, electrical and mechanical inspection, firefighting support, and wildlife surveys.
  • Laser rangefinder — provides precise distance measurements to a designated target, useful for situational awareness, surveying, and coordinating ground response.

Obstacle Avoidance and Situational Awareness

The EVO Max 4T uses a combination of binocular vision and millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar for obstacle detection. The radar system performs in low-light and visually degraded environments where camera-based avoidance alone is unreliable — an important consideration for early-morning, nighttime, or smoky operating conditions.

Transmission and Endurance

  • SkyLink transmission system provides a video and control link to approximately 20 km.
  • Up to 42 minutes of flight time supports extended inspection runs or prolonged area coverage on a single battery.
  • IP43 rating provides basic ingress protection against light rain and dust, making it usable in varied field conditions.

Typical Use Cases

Public safetySearch and rescue, crowd monitoring, incident command support
Infrastructure inspectionPower lines, pipelines, towers, rooftops
Mapping & surveyingPhotogrammetry, site progress documentation
FirefightingHotspot detection, perimeter mapping
Military/governmentReconnaissance in DJI-restricted procurement environments

Ecosystem Context

The 4T sits at the higher end of Autel's EVO Max line and is targeted at professional and enterprise operators who need multi-sensor capability in a portable, foldable airframe. Its position as a non-DJI platform is a practical distinction rather than a marketing claim — it directly addresses real procurement constraints faced by U.S. federal agencies, law enforcement, and allied-nation operators operating under NDAA or equivalent restrictions on certain foreign-manufactured drones.
